We are so pleased to be back and able to facilitate another series of CHW Network meetings with all of you! Please join us on 9/29 at noon to learn from Kate Hartzell, Executive Director of the Southwest Colorado Area Health Education Center (AHEC) present: As a community-ready public health workforce, Community Health Workers (CHWs) take on many roles. How do we understand what CHWs do in ways that represent the work, train new CHWs, and allow for career advancement? In this presentation, we will discuss CHW competencies as they apply to the developing workforce in Colorado. We will also explore how these competencies and the experiences of CHWs working in the field can lead to community-responsive career ladders for continued growth and advancement. As a collaborative, your insights into Community Health Worker education and employment infrastructure will support CHWs serving rural and underserved communities throughout the state.
